The Murphy Corridor Improvement Project is entering its next phase. The road is being upgraded with improved pedestrian access and added infrastructure is being installed.

Murphy Road will be partially closed between Brosterhous and Country Club starting June 11 and lasting through the end of July. Drivers can expect intermittent flagging.

  • Westbound traffic detour on Murphy Road between Brosterhous Road to Country Club Drive.
  • Eastbound traffic on Murphy Road will be maintained.
  • Brown Trout Place will be closed at Murphy Road when westbound traffic on Murphy Road is detoured.

The next major phase may start in August and will include installing a roundabout at the intersection of Murphy and Country Club, modernization of the road between Country Club and Parrell, and construction of the bridge over the BNSF railroad extending to 15th Street.

Murphy Road was initially built to county standards – which do not require sidewalks, for example. This project is modernizing the road in preparation for it to serve as a connection for the southeast part of town.
