Starting in Fall 2019, the Board is developing a process to review and modernize the bylaws.
Topics to consider include but are not limited to:
- Modifying boundaries. The UGB has expanded on our eastern border. Should the OFDNA border expand with the City?
- Membership and voting. How is “membership” best defined for OFDNA? Is requiring a registration card really necessary or could we simplify how you can be considered eligible to vote?
- Updates. Some entities, like the Neighborhood Leadership Alliance, did not exist when our bylaws were last considered. Should things like our role in that be codified here?
The Board reviewed draft proposed revisions to the bylaws at its meeting on November 9, 2020.
That link provides an annotated copy of the existing bylaws, marked up with proposed revisions.
A second review will take place at the Board’s meeting on December 14, 2020.
Once the Board is satisfied, it may vote to refer the revisions to a vote of the General Membership (all members of OFDNA) at a special meeting. That meeting would likely take place in early 2021.
