This came up quickly and I wanted to make sure you all had at least a day to share the information with your neighborhoods!
Starting Wednesday, Oct. 5, Brosterhous Road will close to vehicles at the railroad crossing just north of Caldera Drive to address safety concerns from parents associated with the nearby schools, and to prepare for upcoming construction work.
This closure is anticipated to be in place through mid-December. A signed detour will be available for vehicles. Access for pedestrian and bikes will remain open. Access for emergency vehicles remains available at all times.
The construction project will add safe pedestrian passage to get under the railroad crossing. Learn more here: Brosterhous Accessibility Improvements | City of Bend (bendoregon.gov).
Construction is scheduled to begin Oct. 24 and is anticipated to last until mid-December.
