It’s time to expand the Deschutes County Commission from 3 to 5 members.

Petition sheets are ready to sign!

We’re excited to announce that the ballot language and paperwork submitted by this campaign was accepted and certified by the County Clerk! That clears our first big hurdle in passing legal review and becoming eligible for the ballot. All that’s left is collecting a few thousand signatures from supporters like you.

Be on the lookout for signature gatherers and your chance to sign the petition in downtown Bend, Redmond, Sisters, and La Pine. Official signature gatherers can be found in public places in the months ahead and at certain events.

We’ll update you with a calendar of events where you can find signature opportunities after the holidays. Until then, get in touch if you’d like our campaign to stop by one of your events!

Can’t wait? Sign from home!

Oregon doesn’t just do vote by mail. You can even sign a petition sheet from home! This option requires you to print your own signature page – one person per page – and mail it to us (postage required). Instructions and a printable form are here.

This is a citizen-led initiative. We don’t have big interests shoveling money at us. Thankfully, we also don’t have big expenses. Your donation helps with printing costs and getting the word out.

Why this campaign is so important

County government takes lead on many vital aspects of our everyday lives. From the environment to healthcare, public safety, pocketbook issues, and more, decisions made by county commission impact all our lives. That’s why it’s so important that we have a system that works – and represents everyone.

Expanding county commission will ensure that our county leaders must work toward consensus on the issues that affect us and set Deschutes County up for success in the future.

We can now start gathering signatures!
